Objective and policy plan


The foundation aims to: 1. promote or have promoted the practice of music in the broadest sense of the word;

2. giving or having given musical performances, releasing music on compact discs, DVDs and other image or sound carriers;

3. composing or having composed music, obtaining and exploiting music copyrights and music copyright licenses;

4. the publication or having published of music and music lyrics;

5. the exploitation of music in general and everything that is conducive to or related to this, and furthermore everything that is directly or indirectly related to this or may be conducive to this, all in the broadest sense of the word.

The foundation tries to achieve its goal by, among other things: - composing or having music composed

– publishing or having published music and music lyrics

– giving or having given musical performances

– the release of music on compact discs, DVDs and other image or sound carriers

– obtaining and exploiting music copyrights music copyright licenses

– the exploitation of music in general and everything related to the above or that may be conducive to it, all in the broadest sense of the word.

The foundation uses all other legal means that can contribute to the realisation of its objective, including the acquisition of the necessary resources from governments, companies, funds, financial institutions, lotteries and private individuals.

The foundation does not aim to make a profit.


Current Policy


1. Policy for support and development of the activities of the Ruysdael Quartet. The foundation strives to support the Ruysdael Quartet as much as possible so that it can manifest itself at the highest level for a large audience at home and abroad through concerts and recordings.


2. Policy for expanding the activities of the Ruysdael Quartet. The Ruysdael Quartet is supported by the Foundation in its current policy to increase the frequency of performances, recordings and teaching practices through PR, substantiated artistic content and active recruitment policy.



3. Policy for the development of music students. The Ruysdael Quartet strives for a regular teaching practice for young promising string quartets. This is done by means of lessons and also by playing together with students. Cooperation with conservatories and educational institutions is central to this.

4. Collaboration with renowned musicians and composers. The Ruysdael Quartet regularly collaborates with renowned musicians and composers and strives to maintain this policy. Collaboration with major guest musicians creates new ideas and opens paths to new artistic directions. It also expands the Ruysdael Quartet's network. In addition, the variation within a programme of quartet with quintet (or sextet) repertoire is also a proven successful formula.


5. Fundraising policyThe Ruysdael Quartet Foundation has no equity of its own. The Foundation tries to tap into the following cash flows:a. Receipts from performances.b. Cultural funds.c. Contributions and gifts from individuals and sponsors


6. PR and Communication PolicyThe Ruysdael Quartet and its foundation will focus on the following PR and communication activities:– Developing a house style and house style materials– Managing and developing the website www.ruysdaelkwartet.nl– Mentioning activities on social media– Sending newsletters– Being audible and visible on radio and TV– Possibility to order CDs– Actively inviting reviewers and reporters to concerts or CD releases– General foundation information and ANBI information provision– Mentioning quotes from reviewers and expert musicians– Participating in and contributing ideas to chamber music-related festivals– Affiliated with a music management to expand the network for acquisition and concert recruitment– Project-based approach of PR experts

The remuneration policyDirectors do not receive any remuneration in that capacity, either directly or indirectly. A reasonable compensation for the expenses incurred by the directors on behalf of the foundation and the executive work performed by them, as well as non-excessive vacation pay, is permitted. These compensations are made visible in the annual accounts.
